New therapy and education centre for young people with complex needs in Kent

Aug 2020

Since opening its doors in late 2019, the new Llewellyn Therapy and Education Centre in Thanet has allowed charity Louie's Helping Hands to more than double the amount of young people it cares for. The Centre houses the Llewellyn School and Nursery for children and young people with complex needs, as well as offering much-needed respite care, social and developmental activities for disabled children too ill to attend school. There is an ‘all-access’ playground containing adapted equipment and wheelchair friendly surfacing accessible by the wider community outside of school hours, and the Centre also delivers holiday and after-school clubs for children with complex needs.

The Peter Harrison Foundation contributed £30,000 towards the new therapy suite for children with complex medical needs.
