Climbing to success

Trelya was awarded a grant of £20,000 from The Peter Harrison Foundation for the purchase and installation of a traversing wall & delivery of a programme that utilises the wall to develop essential skills & confidence of children experiencing disabilities and multiple disadvantage. The overriding aim of the project is to use the sport of traversing to develop skills and confidence and support the learning and achievement of children and young people experiencing some of the highest levels of deprivation in the country.

The traversing wall provides not only provides physical activity but by using a variety of games can also develop creative, academic, and cognitive skills, as well as team building and problem solving.
